About the Journal
Focus and scope
The Labor and Human Development Law Journal - Legal Review of the Labour Prosecution Office from the 15th Region is a continuous publication edited by the Regional Labor Prosecutor's Office of the 15th Region (a unit of the Labor Prosecution Office based in Campinas, state of São Paulo) that prioritizes the social phenomenon of labor as an element of human development.
Established in 2018, it publishes theoretical or empirical scientific and technical works from diverse fields that examine dimensions of labor’s social phenomena in relation to legal norms and their societal application.
The RJTDH aims to foster rigorous reflections contributing to reducing material inequalities, ensuring universal access to quality living standards and the effectiveness of basic rights, free from discrimination based on gender, race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, or physical/intellectual condition. Published articles, reviews, and translations adhere to the following principles:
- Commitment to ethical principles and respect for human dignity in labor relations;
- Recognition of the inherent asymmetry in labor relations, disadvantaging workers;
- Attention to scientific foundations of Human Rights, Labor Law, and related fields;
- Dialogue between theory and practice, qualitative and quantitative research, and reality and knowledge, to reduce social inequalities.
The RJTDH welcomes legal and interdisciplinary contributions from local, regional, national, and international contexts, valuing diversity among authors and editorial board members.
Journal History
The RJTDH was established via Ordinance GPC/PRT15 No. 081 (May 21, 2018) by the Regional Labor Prosecutor’s Office of the 15th Region—a unit of Brazil’s Labor Prosecution Office (Ministério Público do Trabalho) in Campinas/SP. It provides internal members, staff, and the public with a platform for high-quality scientific works addressing labor’s multifaceted dimensions through a legal lens, under an open-access policy to enrich public debate on labor as a cornerstone of human development.
Originally semiannual, the journal adopted a continuous publication model (rolling basis) in 2020. It remains dedicated to disseminating rigorous research grounded in humanistic values, protecting human dignity, and advancing social and labor rights, thereby strengthening public discourse and judicial practice in alignment with the Labor Prosecution Office’s institutional mission.
